
In Congo there is a “religion of the cloth,” known as Kitendi. It’s followers are Le Sape (La Societé des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes), who are obsessed with wearing expensive and extravagant clothing.
They practice high dandyism in a part of the world where the average income is less that US $100 per year according to the world bank.
