Nike Dunk High Pro SB Doernbecher
We received three pairs of the very special Nike Dunk High Pro SB Doernbecher, style #554673-610. Click on the picture for more info.
Every year, Nike allows a select few kids at the Doernbecher children’s hospital design some very special kicks. For the first time this year a Nike SB Dunk come into the fold. These vibrant dunk highs feature the words “Thump Thump” on the back and a very detailed image of a heart. The swoosh is done in gold and has special X stitching around it representing medical stitches the young man that designed these shoes received in surgery. Laces and accenting are done in royal blue. The out-sole uses different colors for the first time on a Nike SB and features Finnigan Mooney’s thumbprint. The tongue tag which has a shamrock on it representing Finnigan’s Irish heritage.
Finnigan Mooney, a very brave young man with cardiovascular problems, designed the shoes himself. The “Thump Thump” on the back represents Finnigan’s strong heart which is in his own words “unstoppable”. The heart on the side is a obvious nod to his ailment. Before these, we have not seen children of the Doernbecher hospital incorporate their illness into the shoe, a daring move by Finnigan. These shoes will release in extremely limited allocations. As with all DB releases, the proceeds from the shoes sold in this collection go directly to the Doernbecher Childrens hospital.
