For their second collaboration with Made for Skate, Nike SB announced the release of its upcoming “Roller Derby” Dunk Low Premium Quickstrike. Aptly titled, the shoe resembles design elements from the antique stylings and imagery of retro rollerskating. Textured wood panel embossed materials along the side panels and toe box with distressed cracked leather throughout. The Nike SB Roller Derby Dunk Low Premium will release at noon on October 15th at UNITE.

In conjunction with Northampton’s Arts Night Out, on Friday, October 14, UNITE will host a gallery reception for artist Lauren Piotrowski from 6-9pm. Refreshments will be served. Lauren’s work will be on display and for sale until November 10.


Lauren Piotrowski is a Northampton-based artist who studied at Massachusetts College of Art. Lauren’s work strives to capture pure emotional states, allowing the materials and process to determine the direction of the piece. Her compositions and palate have always been inspired by the body, inside and out. This current series of work on paper furthers her exploration of mind and body through the contemplation of the nature and form of consciousness.

It is about one of the most influential and groundbreaking musical groups in hip-hop history. Having released five gold and platinum selling albums within eight years, A Tribe Called Quest has been one of the most commercially successful and artistically significant musical groups in recent history, and are regarded as iconic pioneers of hip hop. The band’s sudden break-up in 1998 shocked the industry and saddened millions of fans, whose appetite for the group’s innovative musical stylings continues today.


During the third weekend in September, “BEATS, RHYMES & LIFE: THE TRAVELS OF A TRIBE CALLED QUEST,” the award-winning documentary film, will bring you on an Award Tour on the BIG SCREEN at the Academy of Music for just three days: Friday September 23rd, Saturday the 24th, and Sunday the 25th.
