This crazy fabric changes color with heat. Buy them here.
A molecule inside the dyestuff reacts to heat and changes colors based on the temperature range. Don’t worry, the jeans change colors all over and not just in your “happy areas”. Red selvedge edges and blue pull-up leather patch.
Selvedge denim is a rare vintage fabric made on old school shuttle looms that were originally patented around 1924. The edges of the fabric are sealed close during the weaving process creating a “self edge,” hence the term “selvedge denim.” Selvedge denim is typically heavier, more durable and of superior quality than other denims. It is also far more expensive and difficult to produce this fabric and to maintain these rare and early machines. The cotton yarn is also dyed in a unique process called Long Chain Dyeing, which is much more time consuming and tedious than other methods, but the result is a deeper indigo color.
Naked & Famous Denim : no washes, no embroidery, no gimmicks… just the best fabric in the world combined with modern fits. Click on the picture for more information or to purchase the jeans.

Easthampton-based collage artist Michael Sjostedt presents his first solo show, VANDAL, at Unite (202 Main St., Northampton) from March 8 to April 9, 2013. The show kicks off with an opening reception on Friday, March 8, from 6pm to 9pm. The featured DJ is Northampton’s Thorian Maxwell, host of WMUA’s Space Out Radio.
“VANDAL is inspired by the collage process, which can be a disruption of order,” said Sjostedt. “I enjoy subverting the intended message of an image to tell a different story, often in a tongue-in-cheek way.”
Sjostedt’s work gravitates toward the tricky dynamics of relationships between strangers from different backgrounds or perspectives. His pieces also focus on perceived internal dialogues of the “characters.”
He’s open to using a variety of paper sources for his work, but prefers books and magazines produced during mid-Century America. His work is often produced on small wood cubes using Mod Podge. He’ll also produce small poster-sized reproductions for the Unite show.
