Ramiro Davaro-Comas, “The Mustache Team”

In conjunction with Northampton’s Arts Night Out, on Friday February 10th, UNITE will host a gallery reception for local artist, Ramiro Davaro-Comas from 6-9pm. Refreshments will be served. His work will be on display and for sale until March 7th.

Ramiro Davaro-Comas is a illustrator and painter. He was born in Buenos Aires Argentina and has travelled back and forth to the states many times throughout his life. His art work is influenced by his travels, political happenings, the medias portrayal of human interaction and current events.

He works acrylic, spray paint and water color but chooses pen and ink mainly to draw his creatures which often wear skeptical looks on their faces, matched with a smirk. His art work is a dark and humorous mix, it is a nightmarish juxtaposition of horrific dreams and the reality he views in the world. His work fuses beautiful color and characters, and his contemporary style rings true to the social and economic happening of the day. It speaks with aggression and with a blatant tone on the subject matter depicted on the canvas.
